Jason Killmeyer is a political commentator and national security expert specializing in emerging technology applications. He concluded a dozen years in national security as Chief of Staff of Global Defense, Security & Justice at Deloitte Consulting LLP.

Jason is a contributing editor at the defense-focused 19FortyFive.com and a 2019 National Review Institute Washington Regional Fellow. Jason writes regularly for major outlets and has been featured as an author or cited expert in the Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, the Washington Examiner, The Dispatch, and more.

Jason is the founder and president of FreeWork, a Pittsburgh-based non-profit dedicated to matching creative youth with tools for content creation. FreeWork’s first project is a now-complete Podcast and YouTube Studio Room built for an afterschool program in Pittsburgh's North Side.

Jason has a Master’s in Middle Eastern Studies from American University. While leading large counterterrorism and defense policy programs, Jason insulated federal IT supply chains from foreign attack, prevented terrorists from coming into the country, and shaped and executed policy for both intelligence community leadership and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Jason was often at the nexus between national security and emerging trends – both inside and outside of classified environments – and he supported a number of cutting-edge software projects and prototypes for the federal government.
